Safe, responsible spotting
Terms of Service
The rules for using FlightTrove and its aircraft-spotting information.
Last updated 23 August 2026
These Terms of Service apply when you access or use FlightTrove. The service-provider identity, governing law and jurisdiction are stated on the Legal page.
Purpose and scope
FlightTrove is a consumer aircraft-spotting service that helps you discover nearby aircraft, understand what may be worth looking up for, manually confirm a real-world Spot, and build a personal collection.
It is not an aviation safety, navigation, air-traffic-control, emergency, surveillance or professional operational service. Never rely on it for flight operations or safety decisions.
Accounts and eligibility
FlightTrove is intended for users aged 16 or older. You are responsible for keeping your account and sign-in methods secure, for information you submit, and for activity carried out through your account. Do not share authentication tokens or impersonate another person.
Real-world spotting
A Spot records your own manual confirmation that you physically observed an aircraft. Nearby data, predictions or alerts do not create a Spot automatically and do not guarantee that an aircraft can be seen.
Observe only from a safe and permitted place. Do not trespass, enter restricted, airport, military or private areas, interfere with aviation activity, or use a phone while driving.
Information limitations and availability
Aircraft positions, identities, routes, classifications, visibility guidance and alerts may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or inaccurate. Conditions and provider coverage change. Service features may be maintained, corrected, suspended or withdrawn where necessary for safety, security, licensing or operation.
Acceptable use
You must use FlightTrove lawfully and responsibly. You must not:
- stalk, harass, identify owners or passengers, infer personal itineraries, or conduct personal or military intelligence gathering;
- interfere with aviation activity or attempt to reconstruct information intentionally suppressed for safety or privacy;
- scrape, enumerate, bulk-export, redistribute restricted data, bypass limits or security controls, or overload the service;
- upload unlawful, harmful, misleading or rights-infringing content, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Free, Plus and purchases
FlightTrove has Free and Plus capabilities. Free contains the complete manual spotting and collection loop; Plus may add wider discovery and proactive or predictive intelligence but never changes physical Spot eligibility.
If paid functionality is activated, Google Play processes the purchase under its terms. Product, price, renewal, cancellation and refund information shown by Google Play at purchase time controls the store transaction. No active purchase is offered through this website unless an authoritative Play listing is configured.
Intellectual property
FlightTrove software, brand, presentation and original content are protected by applicable rights. Provider and map data remain subject to their respective owners and licences. These terms do not grant a right to copy the service, brand, databases or restricted provider data.
Suspension, termination and deletion
We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate access for abuse, security threats, unlawful conduct, licence restrictions or material breach, using proportionate measures where practicable. You may stop using FlightTrove and request permanent account deletion through the in-app flow or the public Delete account page.
Account deletion and Google Play subscription cancellation are separate actions. Deleting FlightTrove data does not cancel, refund or revoke a Play subscription; manage cancellation through Google Play. An active subscription does not prevent account deletion.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, FlightTrove is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability, aircraft visibility, provider coverage or aviation-grade accuracy. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability, remedies or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Law, changes and contact
The governing law and competent jurisdiction are stated on the Legal page, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under applicable law. Material term changes will be published at this stable URL; renewed acceptance will be requested when required. Use the Support page for product questions and the privacy contact on the Legal page for data-protection matters.
